Cathie Lee Beyerlein passed away April 7, 2017 at Agrace Hospice in Janesville, surrounded by her family. Cathie was born in Janesville March 18, 1951 to Carl and Betty (Franke) Luedtke. Cathie graduated from Janesville Craig High School in 1969 and the former Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee in 1972. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls from 1972 until 1981. In 1975 Cathie married Gordon Beyerlein at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Janesville. They had two sons, Jeremy and Jacob. They lived sequentially in Waukesha and Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; Odessa, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina and Janesville, Wisconsin. Cathie enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, volunteering at her sons’ schools, quilting, traveling and genealogy. Cathie was active in various activities at St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Rock County Genealogical Society. Cathie was a past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters in Janesville.
Cathie endured over a year of challenges with multiple myeloma and the resulting amyloidosis which caused many organ challenges. Despite months of chemotherapy her body was unable to recover despite her positive attitude, strength and courage. Her family is extremely proud of Cathie.
Cathie is survived by her husband Gordon, parents, Carl & Betty Luedtke, her sons: Jeremy (Sonja) Beyerlein and Jacob (Amanda) Beyerlein; her grandchildren: Joseph, Elise, Ariella, Samantha, James, Malachi, Ezekiel and Jennifer; her sister Carla (Steve) Agnew; her brothers: Tom (Annette) Luedtke and Tim (Luann) Luedtke; her nieces and nephews: Stephanie (Aaron) Aegerter, Carrie (Rebecca) Agnew, Alexander (Gloria) Luedtke, Madalyn (Matt) Craigmile, Jacquelyn Luedtke, Jocelyn Luedtke, Stephen (Jill) Luedtke and Michael (Aviva) Luedtke; grandnieces and grandnephews: Adah Rivers, Ruby Agnew, Luca Agnew, Henry Luedtke, Lucy Luedtke and Makayla Luedtke; and mother-in-law Sharlotte Beyerlein.
Cathie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Lucille (Ward) Luedtke and George and Esther (Winter) Franke, her infant brother Douglas, her grandnephew Ty Rivers and her father-in-law, Earl Beyerlein.
Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Wednesday April 12, 2017, with the funeral service to follow at 11 AM Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 302 N Parker, Dr, Janesville, WI. Rev. Bond Haldeman will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville
